Aakash tablets for students of Andhra to Rs 1500



Hyderabad, Jan 29 (TruthDive): Akash tablet is originally priced at Rs 2500 will now be available in Andhra Pradesh for just Rs 1500. The State Government provides a subsidy of Rs 1000 for students in order to facilitate e-learning.

A proposal has already been sent to Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry, the State Commissioner of Technical Education, S Balasubramanyam said.

S Balasubramanyam said: "The UMHRD has requested the State to submit the details of the number of tablets Aakash initially required. We have offered to provide the pills to students in state universities, engineering colleges and polytechnics initially at a subsidized price of Rs 1500. We plan to buy 10 000 tablets at first. "

The second phase of the plan will see students from private colleges.

The government also planned to provide the pills in college and university libraries, which will be available for rent for students who can not afford them.

S. Balasubramanyam said that at least another 3-4 months to obtain the 10 000 tablets Aakash Union Ministry of HRD as the state government was waiting for the next generation of Aakash, to be published in April.

The tablet has been specially designed for students in order to bridge the digital divide between rich and poor. Over the next five years, the Centre plans to provide the pills to 20 crore students.

The Union HRD ministry is monitoring the implementation of the project Aakash.
